Historical Venue

The Cabaret at the Montreal Casino is a historical site which was once the location of the 1967 World's Fair Quebec exhibition. Montreal hosted Expo '67 in which dozens of countries from around the world established exhibitions to highlight their culture and achievements. For many years after Expo '67 the pavilions, built on the Notre Dame Island in the Straits of the St. Laurent River, continued to function as a tourist destination called "Man and His World."

Visitors to Man and His World dwindled and in 1993 the site was turned into the Casino du Quebec. Major renovations, totaling $305 million, began in 2009. Today the Montreal Casino is one of the largest casinos in Canada.

The casino is comprised of two of the Expo '67 pavilions, the Pavilion de France, where the gaming facilities are located, and the Pavilion de Quebec which houses the Cabaret. An annex connects the two pavilions, making it convenient for visitors to move easily from one pavilion to the other.

The Cabaret hosts performances from cabaret-style to burlesque, country, rock, pop, classical and electronic music. There are also kickboxing demonstrations, magic and comedy shows and more. Many of the best performers in North America come to perform at the Cabaret. One of the most exciting upcoming shows is the Broadway 2 mix of Broadway hits which headlines the Cabaret acts during January, February and March 2016. In addition, a wide variety of shows by well-known singers from Canada and abroad are featured in the casino's other performance halls, bars and gaming areas in the French Pavilion.
